Senioritis

There wasn't for me. I didn't do a damn thing for school towards the end. I had tons of AP's and thus didn't have the luxury of slacking off quite this early, but my grades plummeted after AP's for classes in which teachers insisted on trying to keep going.

The tests are in AP Bio and AP physics B. I wouldnt care if they were in non AP classes.

hahah, i'm on the same boat as you my friend. I'm supposed to be doing an essay on Macbeth for AP English, and Chapter summaries for AP Bio. I'm counting down the days 'til graduation and it just seems too damn long. And I've been cutting my gym class and haven't studied for tests. Gahh, the only cure is graduation, and after that all your motivation will replenish itself in time for college.

Same exact problem. I also have lots of Biology/AP homework and self-ap prep. I will get to it eventually! It's very hard to start working though.

I would imagine that colleges act on good faith that you won't slack off at the end of your senior year just because you have an acceptance. I actually had a friend who was rejected from his top undergrad school after demonstrating that he had an extreme downward trend in his grades as soon as he was accepted. Granted, this is probably a rare case, but it can still happen. I wouldn't slack off if I were you.

Easier said then done my friend. Im trying...😀

hahah, procrastination shall triumph once again!

Just wait until you get to college. My procrastination got 10x worst.

I found that having a very concrete goal that you're actually serious about usually helps, but it was temporary for me. My goal dissipated within a few days...🙁

It's natural. I just keep telling myself I'll work my ass off until AP season is done, and then relax until graduation.

Yeah, last year when I heard the word "senioritis" I shook my head and thought it was a seriously bad joke. uhm... I've had senioritis since nearly the beginning of the year. I've really tried to study, but I just can't see a reason to when high school is now of no importance. And it's to the point where I don't feel like high school is preparing me anymore than it already has for college. At that, the only AP I am doing this year is a pre-med req, so it's not like I care about the score (though I will try to get a 3 or 4). My grades are still fairly good, though =)

Oh well...

I don't think there is a cure, by the way.

If I ever become a Doctor, this is the disease I will try to cure... LOL

1. Get your books.
2. Sit Down
3. Shut Up
4. Study

Get motivated, or else your screwed. And don't waste time here until all your work is completed.

procrasterbation is one of the seven deadly sins

I never really experienced senioritis. If anything, I only felt the effects of it during short bursts. I think it's because I slept through most of senior year.

Same here. Right now I'm just trying to do well on the 2 APs I'm taking because at least I can find the motivation for them because they will affect me next year

yeah ive tried to stay motivated for my 2 aps and try to keep up good grades so that i can just get through it. believe me, the more you procrastinate and leave stuff last minute, the more youll learn to plan youre schedule better. especially when youre taking ap bio -_- lol

I have two tests tomorrow but I cant get myself to study. I thought I know never get this disease. Is there no cure?

Haha, I know what you mean. Even though I was taking 4-5 AP's senior year, I knew I was going to CC right after, so I didn't care about my grades and I didn't need to take the SAT's, so I got into a total funk of just getting by. Don't worry, once you get to college, and realize what's really on the line, you've got plenty of motivation to get your ass in gear!

^ same here - i didn't apply anywhere so right now... it's kind of like whatever. I haven't done more than 30 minutes of study / hw this entire year (except projects and essays). My science and math classes are a joke and the only classes I need to graduate are econ. and english.

^ why ? at least you could've gotten into a univ. my 10-11 grade gpa was like 3.0 🙁 with absolutely no ec's thinking back I wish I would've taken the CHSPE chill for a year then go to CC.

I've also missed tons of school this year and last (the attendance lady is a bitch though)- and plus my school sucks.... I'm not going to miss this school at ALL - I live 25 miles away so im going to CC faaaaar away from my high school. The local CC next to my HS is also known as south high 2.0 / part deux (not my real HS 🙂 ) so I can avoid most of them. Idk if I'll even attend graduation but my mom probably will want to.

When you get to med school, you'll discover that 'senioritis' really means 'inflammation of the senior'
