I think one of the questions was missed.
Sensory receptors is a broad term for all receptors that bring information to the CNS. These include osmolar receptors, chemo receptors, stretch receptors, nociceptors, hot receptors, cold receptors, etc. etc. etc.
Receptors are only part of the PNS, which bring information TO the CNS (afferent neurons). Remember, CNS is the BRAIN and the SPINAL CORD only! All other neurons that take information away from the CNS (efferent, such as motor neurons) or bring the information to the CNS (afferent) are part of the PNS. All sensory neurons are afferent and part of the PNS.
