Luckily for me I'm not taking the test until Monday but for the ones who are taking it today I made this thread for you 😛 Hopefully everyone did better than expected.

Verbal - 82
Reading - 48
Biol - 98
Chem - 96
Quantitative - 93

Composite - 94
GPA: 3.98

Goddamn, that RC score really caught me off guard when I first saw it. Karma for not studying it, I guess =\

I could retry in January to try for a balanced score, but I dunno. I guess I'm looking for a confidence boost. A 48 shouldn't hurt me THAT much, right?

Can u tell us how you prepared for the pcat? I really need to bring my composite up by like 50, so i really need to study right this time, im redoing it in january.

Verbal: 478/99
Biology: 483/99
Reading Comp.: 441/94
Quantitative: 442/93
Chemistry: 485/99

Composite:
466/99

🙂

COuld you give me some advice on RC and verbal? I got 17% on reading today and i still cant believe it even now.... and verbal is also pretty bad i got 58%. My final mark is 83 so reading and verbal are the two sections that i really need to improve. I feel like after reading the 3rd passage, my brain couldnt grasp anything and i was extremely tired. Do you guys feel that way??

Check out the "99%ile" thread.

🙂

i am studying from collins and it helping me lot . but nobody like last july thread said this time collin helped me lot , i found similar question in math , bio ????hope iam wrong !!!!

I reviewed with Collins about 3 weeks before the test. I probably should have studied math some other way not having any math contact for about four years, but Collins was very helpful in my opinion with Biology and Chem review.

For the Biology and Chemistry sections I used the "Kaplan Science Review Notes" book and did some practice tests over a period of 3 weeks (several days I did nothing at all, though), spending most of my time on Biology. I knew next to no organic chemistry (haven`t taken the course yet), but the chemistry section is mostly math skills anyway. Kaplan practice tests helped for chemistry, I think.

For quantitative ability I just did some practice tests until I felt reasonably comfortable. I`ve always been decent at math though, so I probably studied for a total of 5 hours.

I didn`t study reading comprehension, but I did poorly on that section.

Verbal I learned a bunch of new words using the Kaplan flashcards and did a few practice tests. A small handful of the words I learned were on the test.

I practiced a few essays using Kaplan prompts and tried to get a general formula. I won`t know how I did on the essay until the marks come in though.

I think you`re your own best judge when it comes to studying. Trust your instincts and study what feels right. Keep hammering at a topic until you feel comfortable, then move on. And be sure to do practice tests.

Hope that helps, amigo!

approx when will the official scores be up on the website?
I know it says within five weeks, but on average how much time as it taken them to get the scores up, based on past experiences?

I took it in July and it was about 3 weeks. It takes one more week after that for it to show up on PharmCAS.

which book helped you the most with calculus?

First time taking it in July:
Verbal 423 - 82
Biology 421 - 80
Reading 420 - 76
Chemistry 402 -48
Quantitative 391 - 26
Composite 411 - 65

Today's Score:
Verbal Ability 419 - 77
Biology 465 - 99
Reading Comp 434 - 90
Quant 413 - 64
Chemistry 439 - 91
Composite 434 - 94

Not going to take it again. I hope the second score is good enough to get in although my undergrad GPA is really bad at a 2.7 (started college in 1999 and graduated in 2005). I do have a 4.0 in my MBA classes as I'm half way through (6 grad classes) and I have 8 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

First time I studied Official PCAT practice test and Kaplan along with re-reading text books. Second time I restudied Kaplan and bought Dr. Collins. I used Dr. Collins more for time management and the practice tests are really helpful.

Hello,

I have taken PCAT three times. My latest PCAT was on 14 Sep. 2011. And that was my best score. Today 20 Oct. 2011 pharmcas has mailed my package to the schools i am applying.
I didn't receive my latest PCAT score and i assuming that Pharmcas didn't receive it either. so i am thinking that they just mailed my old pcat.

so can anyone please correct me if i am making a wrong assumption or just give me some advice how to deal with this?

Thank you.

Have the official scores been released yet for the Sept 14 test date? When I took it in July, official scores came out in less than a month but I still have not received any notification about them being released for Sept.

Nope. Scores have not been released yet. Getting the scores done faster has no incentive for the test graders. They will get paid the same amount regardless. Therefore, the test graders are planning to take their sweet time because we are not a priority. 🙂

Like most of you I'm also waiting for the Sept test scores, I just anxious to find out my scores for the writing section.

My scores were:

VA: 409/63
Bio: 421/80
RC: 411/63
QA: 438/91
Chem: 449/95

Composite: 426/87

I'm happy with my scores, I don't think I could have done better with the Verbal nor Reading Comprehension sections considering english is not my first language and working under pressure I couldn't ask for more. I'm looking forward for my writing scores to come out to see if I should worry or not abt my english abilities ^_^.

I got a pretty low PR score and im applying this year plus I already sent out the scores to the schools..what do I do??

Official scores are out (now with 10% more essay!):

Verbal - 82
Reading - 48
Biol - 98
Chem - 96
Quantitative - 93

Composite - 94
Essay: 3/3
GPA: 3.98

My GPA might take a minor hit this year, but I doubt it'll have too much effect. I got the essay mark I needed, too, so no excuse to retake anymore. Guess there's nothing left to do but to hope for a good interview, amirite?
