I'm a nontrad prehealth (considering Pharmacy, Optometry and maybe other options) wondering if there are schools concerned about the sequence of prerequisites? I ask because since I'm undetermined at the moment as to specifically which field I will purse, I want to focus only on courses that will apply as prereqs to all the fields I'm considering. As a nontrad, I also want to be as efficient as possible in my course selection. An example is Pharmacy wants Phys I and OChem I/II, whereas Optometry is just the opposite. The common courses Phys I/Ochem I, so in sticking with my plan, I'd take only those two now and pick up either Phys II or Ochem II later depending on which field I choose. Clear as mud? 🙂

Are there schools that frown on breaking apart a two-course sequence?

From my experience, most schools only care that you have completed all the pre-reqs, not the order.

I agree. However you can get them in and feel comfortable doing them, that is fine. But IMO it would be easier to do O Chem 1/2 together and Physics 1/2 together, just for continuity.

I agree that continuity is better taking them in sequence, but if you split them, I'd take Ochem I/II and hold off on physics II. But really you'd want to look at how you're school does it. At my CC the 2nd half of physics could be picked up without much need of the first semester. You'd just have to remember some basics. 1st semester was essentially mechanics. (velocity, acceleration, rotation, etc.) 2nd semester was electromagnetics/waves.
