Hi I am an average student planning to take the exam in a few weeks. I've been doing UW, FA, and Goljan Audio+100 pages HY notes. UWSA 1- 214, NBME 11- 206. At this point, I just want to pass the exam!!!!!!
Any advice will be appreciated.
Maria

edit- i haven't been able to fall asleep these days after reading the posts about how crazy molecular cell qs, and anatomy questions are. I don't know how i should prepare for it...I am still struggling memorizing stuff from UW and FA...I just want to pass the exam because i am so burnt out. 🙁

first things first, get ya swag up.

second things, dont use Goljan. Everything in Goljan's book that you need to know is in FA, and his book is so dense,, you will prob waste more time going through that ish than actually learning. 3 weeks left? Do UW, FA, obviously, but if you weak on somethin somethin, focus on that. Dont worry about getting extraneous facts from outdated Goljan lectures, focus on hammering down your weak subjects and familiarizing yourself with test questions. Focus on neuro, behav sci, and cell bio, because you will have a bunch of questions from that on your exam.

third, just relax. You will pass if you gettin 200+ on them nbme junts.

GOOD LUCK homie.

+1 to goljan audio being useless. way too old.

RR is nice for the pictures and the blue side notes.

and you can't prepare for the anatomy questions unless you want to re-learn your anatomy course. there aren't enough of them to make the difference between you passing and failing. people make a big deal out of the crazy questions because they're the only thing you can't prepare for, but i'm sure they (and you) will still end up with good scores, even if you don't know the exact arterial supply of the female pelvis or something.

Bro, how many points do you think you can improve on an NBME in 3 weeks? My last NBME was disastrous (form 6 - 350) and I have a month left till the exam, what do you think?

Im not sure of the 3 digit ocnversions, but heres what i recommend to you playa. My homies here at the home base that struggle, I tell them the same ish. If you are doing poorly, focus on one source...that source should be First Aid. Instead of worring about hitting every little fact, focus on the material you are weak on. If you feel like you are solid all around with the material, do questions. Real talk, I was a microbio major in undergrad, and I'm pretty solid all around at micro. My first USMLEWorld test was Micro, and i got a 30ish% on it. Why? Because you gotta get used to the questions pimpin. Aight? You aint dumb cuz you in medical school shawty, so if you just buckle down, you can definitely bump taht score up a bit. In 3 weeks, if you train yourself properly, you can bump it up 20 points in terms of the 0-300 scale. Just my opinion tho, best of luck my dood.

It depends on the circumstance. If I want to talk properly, as I do to my patients and to my superiors, I use proper syntax and grammar and make sure my speech is eloquent and lucid.
If I'm on the internet, pimp, I talk like I do to mah boys and idgaf who readin. Yall dont know me, and Im shrouded with the cloak of anonymity becuz it's the internet, ya dig? Since I type pretty fast on this junt, and no one SHOULD be judgin me over my typin and speech patterns, I just speak the way im comfortable, ya feel me?

+5 for ditching Rapid Review Path for Step 1. I went through it and it didn't give me anything on the exam that wasn't in FA.

Like everyone said, focus on UW and FA. but priority is UW > FA, given that you've gone through FA at least twice already.

I would say even start running through UW a second time if you have time, and make jot note flash cards of concepts you still haven't nailed.
