It's not better, and the fact that each post is a poll makes it confusing.
I think the ultimate goal of that site is to collect opinions from practicing physicians that could be used for marketing purposes.
On the other hand it's growing fast and there is a wealth of knowledge and experience that can not be ignored, they are even working on adding a free employment section.

that is not the goal that is reality... the site makes money selling info to pharmaceutical companies. they ran into trouble a few months back for some marketer posing as a doctor or something to that effect i believe.

they wanted me to fax documentation that i was really a doctor.... too much damn work. look me up on the internet or something...

You have to have a medical license to join. Therefore, no CRNA/SRNA/NP or pre-med/med student trolls. Since all are practicing physicians/residents, it is probably the cleanest internet forum you can have. Rarely do you see shouting-matches.
I posted one question over there once and the replies are simply insightful and impressive. No pretenses, no B.S.. As a resident, I feel I learned a lot from just reading these posts from other physicians.

It is more mature than here, giving you responses to your inqueries from full fledged attendings. Minimal, if any shouting. You will also get responses from other specialists, which is something that is rarely seen in this forum. I like sermo, but it lacks the volume that this forum has. Still, there are many insightful posts there.
