Bit of a random question here.. Can anyone explain the action of serotonin upon the trigeminal nerve? Is serotonin itself vasoactive, or does it cause vasodilation indirectly through stimulation of the trigeminovascular response? I'm trying to better understand migraine pathogenesis. Thanks!
