I'm a bit confused as to what this is exactly a measure of. Is the level only increased secondary to erythroid hyperplasia and increased concentration of nRBC's? Or can nRBC's upregulate TfR (i.e. it would be possible to have elevated sTfR without increased numbers of nRBC's)

I think it is a bit beyond step - I was going to put it in allo, but one of the last threads about it (that received no replies) was in here. Maybe that logic is bad!
