service animals for PTSD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've heard of service dogs for PTSD but never service cats.

I'm surprised that a cat could be trained so well. My cats do whatever they want and don't listen to a word I say. 🙂

I have a patient with a service dog for panic disorder with severe agoraphobia. I'm not complaining because she's able to leave the home and work part-time since getting the dog.

How expensive are these things? I can't imagine insurance would cover it.
