Setting up appointment with unc school dean

Hi guys, I'm trying to set up an appointment with the dean of admission at unc dental school to try to discuss weakness in my application so I can become a better candidate for admission next cycle. I called the admission office to try to set up an appointment with the dean and they told me that I will have to email him myself. I did email the dean twice and haven't heard back. So was wondering if i can get some suggestions from anyone successfully got an appointment with the dean. How were you able to get an appointment with the dean, especially at UNC d school would be great! Thanks!

Are you seeking his advice so he sees that you are committed to improving your application? There are hundreds of people on sdn that can help you with how you need to improve your application.

If you just want to talk to the dean to show you are committed, I would keep emailing, but not to the point of bombardment. He's the dean...he gets a lot of emails. Make your subject line something better maybe, or go there in person if you can....my two cents.

I think OP wants specific advice tailored to his application. That's probably a good idea, b/c although SDN is a good resource, it's still a bunch of undergrads who are mostly guessing when it comes to application/interview advice. It's good stuff, but grain of salt and all that.

He usually takes a little while to respond to e-mails, especially during this busy time. Be patient, he will most likely respond in the coming weeks.

I'm sure you can, but I suppose it really depends on your interviewer.

Who did you talk to when you called? I set up an appointment several weeks ago for a Wednesday when I called on Monday. I'm sure tons of people have been emailing...I would probably try to keep reaching him every week or every other week.
