Does anyone have a particular way they attack the writing topic? I usually try to outline my answers beforehand and then stop whenever my hand starts to cramp up. 😳

When you're actually writing it, you're so tired by that point that you tend to forget to do your own little mental outline. Do Not Forget To Do It! Best plan is to think of it this way: Write an intro, 2 body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Any more, and you might run out of things to say/time, and you're hand may cramp.

Definitely practice a writing sample or two. I didn't, and really wish I would have, I would have known what I was in for. But ultimately I did well, so don't stress too bad. Good luck!

Also, make sure your points are clearly structured in your body paragraph. Be overly explicit in your organization; they'd rather give you more points for clarity than for style. Throw out that nice literary flow that you picked up in your english literature course. Just stick with the basics.

Also, be sure to address everything that your prompts asks directly. Don't just answer the question by including parts of the prompt in your sample itself, but don't go off on a tangent without addressing the prompt.
