Sexual Misconduct

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If it is a state hospital. Usually state employees have soviegn immunity against personal lawsuits. I know this is the case with many state employees employed by state hospitals.

I know about this case. And know the people involved. And hope that place goes down in flames!!!

I am glad she finally got a settlement. She was treated very unfairly. That place is toxic. That was my experience then and this shows what a bunch of ass hats are running that place.

I’m unfamiliar with New Mexico’s specific rules, but the soverign immunity you refer to usually only applies to patient suits (and even then, has limits). Minimal chance it would cover this personal issue, and it shouldn’t.

Here's the actual email string. UNM blames settlement, defendant for lack of bonuses

If you ever wonder why you are sitting through compliance training yet again, its because of people like this
Wow! Just wow. Whoever leaked this to her lawyers deserves a round of drinks and dinner on my tab. I know some of those players.
This is what happens when a resident develops a bad rapport with one or two attendings and the whole pool gets contaminated. All this behind the scenes gossip amongst the attendings about "Said problem resident". The resident continues to get crappy evaluations because now they are placed under extra, biased scrutiny from other uninvolved attendings who've heard whispers and read childish emails.

Such bull****.

How can smart people be so dumb? Constantly amazes me what supposedly/allegedly smart people will put in writing.

Their behavior here certainly lends credence to the accusations about their previous behavior. I'd love to know what made Vender so angry that she complained about the lawyer to the state board. She appears to have been a resident at the same time.

Me too. She seems shady.

I always keep an eye out for NM jobs out of curiosity because I have family there and it seems there has been an uptick in the UNM jobs posted in gaswork lately.

2 lessons (among multiple other lessons) that can be learned from this:
1. Be very careful about what you send out as an "Everybody" email
2. Prior to sending out said email, always save as a draft and think about what you are about to send out

3. Public employee emails are subject to open records requests (may or may not apply here but people in university/military practice should think about this)
