hi lin,

i will probably start looking in june...i'm guessing that's when all the leases will be up for renewal...i am applying for student housing too...however, it just sounds like such a long shot that i thought i'd look into a backup plan~ if you wanna look together...maybe we can hookup in june? 😀

Hey guys... I talked to the housing office today, and they said they will notify people about student housing the week of the 20th (of this month)... so good luck to those of you that applied! I'm crossing my fingers, although I know it's a long shot.

i am so jealous you guys get Stan as a classmate!

if this info is still pertinent to anyone...

it seems like 1 person studio apt. within 6 blocks of the school are renting on average around $1200. there are availabilities, but landlords claim that they go pretty fast (then again, there's one posted across the street from the dental school that has had the sign up for almost a month now). i don't know why that is, but i suspect the noise factor (sirens on parnassus street) and steep rent ($1250).

i haven't searched too extensively beyond 6 blocks or so. if i know anything else i'll keep you updated.

thank you too, cinnamon. i gotta tell ya.. it's not as bad as it was 2 or 3 years ago... but the landlords are still pretty darn inflexible and arrogant. good luck in your search! (also check PM)

no one has really posted in this thread for a while... but anyways, just wanted to let you guys know that I got UCSF housing at the Turk Boulevard Apartments... that's it... enjoy the rest of your summer.

hey guys,

just wondering if any of you guys are thinking about living in one of the dental frats. they sent me an ad...it seems like a pretty good deal.
$450 includes shared rooms, 3 meals a day, maid service, pool room, study room, only 3 blocks from campus, big screen tv, and others. seems like a steal to me. what do u guys think. anyone know or heard if living in a frat is a good idea or not. thanks and i hope everyone is finding housing ok. i'm excited to meet all of you guys this fall.

just curious, has EVERYONE received housing information from ucsf already? if so, when did you receive it? i'm asking wondering because i haven't received anything from ucsf since the reception about a month ago. has ucsf sent out anything else besides housing info?

as for dental frats, someone recommended this to me a while back. when i called them, one frat seemed to have occupancy--psi omega dental frat. sounded pretty cheap...but the guy told me that they have only guys living there now...but it was a good deal.

contact info for psi omega: 415-759-8201

good luck!
