SF Match will not allow applicants to enter a 3 digit score for Step 1.

All of Class of 2023 that slaved away in dedicated to get a step 1 score, are not allowed to show programs what they got.

Confirmed with a phone call to SF Match directly.

Hopefully your step 1 knowledge base helps you rock step 2

Yep, it's happening. I've been watching this disaster slowly unfolding for 2 years now.

Basically everyone in your class knew that this might happen, and even those in the class of 2022 who were thinking of taking research years knew it could happen to them too. Sucky situation, though from the people I've talked to, it seems that there are quite a few programs that have been blinding STEP scores for a while now. As long as people got above a certain threshold it wasn't even looked at. Hence the change to P/F.

I just dont understand why they don't simply set a date like ERAS??

ERAS set a date for Step 1 three digits scores. If you're exam was before the date and you have a 3 digit, then you get to choose whether to disclose it or not.

Small med schools with no ophtho home program or small research footprint have a massive disadvantage now.

It feels like theft from SF Match..

I thought they just couldn't filter by Step 1 but the report could be included in the application... is this brand new information
Now I'm not certain. The SF match guy I talked to say there is no 3 digit score. But looking at the app, there is a Step 1 document upload section. Does this mean that even though there is no 3 digit section, in theory someone will view the 3 digit from the actual score report that gets uploaded? Is this what you had heard?
