sf match registration number

does anybody know if the sf match registration number has to be directly on things like transcripts and LORs or just on the envelopes that contain them?

I'm sure it helps things to not get misplaced to have your number on as many documents as possible, but I had my number on essentially nothing.

just talked to the help line... your number only has to be on the front of the envelope
