I don't understand the answer here. Can anyone explain this for me?
6 valence electrons + bonds = 10 electrons.
This calculation doesn't really make sense to me.. :S

2 electrons surrounding S for each bond to fluorine and you have 4 bonds to fluorine. So that is 2*4=8 plus you have a lone pair so that is 8+2=10.

I also missed this question because I didn't know what the question was asking. I think I put 6 for its number of valence electrons. But I got why it's 10 watching that video in the link.
 
just draw the lewis dot for this one and could out all the dots around the S. This question is kinda dumb and I doubt we will see something like this on the DAT but it does make you think
