I was wondering if I would like to enter SGU next Jan (2006) when would be the best time to apply?
Also has anyone heard anything about the cost of tuition? Avg admission undergrad. GPA?
Any other admissions advice is much appreciated.
thanks!

1 more thing...would it be better to just go to SGU after graduation or get a masters (in the US) and then re-apply to US med schools w/ a greater chance of getting in?

I would double-check the website to see if they have a deadline, but it is always better to get your application in earlier rather than later. If you get your application in within the next few months, you should be fine.

I wouldn't necessarily worry about getting a Master's before applying--I think most US schools rely mostly on MCAT scores and GPA for their initial screen of the applicant pool (I may be wrong, of course, but that's how the SUNY system does it).

Cost of tuition should be updated on the SGU website as well (www.sgu.edu); on full loans I will be taking out around $180,000 (more with interest). It's expensive, but so far, has been worth it.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the relpy!
Also has anyone heard the Average GPA & MCAT scores for admission to SGU???

If your stats are ok a Master's degree will give you a much better shot at the schools in the U.S. Especially if it is in something like microbiology and is accompanied by published research. 🙂
