Called and talk to enrollment counselor at SGU, they said that they require a bachelor's degree but if you have a PharmD degree without a bachelor's degree they won't accept you. Is that correct? I mean most pharmacy school in the US don't even require a bachelor's degree to get into pharmacy school so a lot end up not getting a bachelor's but went straight to a PharmD. Which means for those wanting to a career change from another health field like pharmacy would be screwed. So how is that a doctorate's degree is seeing less than a bachelor's degree? Makes no sense to me.

not having a bachelor is a major problem. it's not a official requirement but you would have to be pretty over the top to overcome this. why? cause not saying you in particular but most pharmd requires you to spend a minimum of two years in undergraduate as a pre-pharm student, take the PCAT, apply to pharm school, and then complete a 4 year course of study before becoming a real pharmacist. that's 6 years right there minimum. compared to md. it requires you to spend four years in undergraduate as a pre-med student, take the mcat, apply to med school, and then complete a 4 year course of study before becoming a real physician (well sort of. there are still pgyears). that's 8 years right there minimum.

anywho. you called and asked sgu right? and you got your answer. the school doesn't accept pharmd degree. you need a bachelor's degree. while some schools might say yes that they will accept your pharmd degree. i guess you need to call and ask each school. if this is too much work then you should have obtained a bachelor's degree before getting a pharmd degree.

my fault. pharmd is no go for sgu. pharmd for other schools depends like the previous post stated.

why don't you apply US medical schools? forget about those in Carribean cuz it will be very tough in obtaining residency down the road in future by the time you graduate .
