Hi all. I am in New York City and looking for a DO to "shadow" as they call it. I actually would really like to spend time with a DO to learn from and ask questions. From what I have read the osteopathic philosophy speaks to what I believe in and the way I would like to practice medicine. Also I have read many studies showing OMT to be effective and it is something that I would like to learn. Alot of osteopathic schools prefer letters of recommendation from a DO from what I have read and heard from admissions. I am taking the MCAT in August and I was hoping to spend time with a DO this summer if possible before secondary applications start. I was given a list of phone numbers of DOs from NYSOMS, who are very helpful by the way, but so far I have left messages with no response. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.

I'm actually going to school there but for their Masters program. Have you worked there before. Do you know who specifically to contact. Thank You so much for your help.

Did you work with him before? I wouldn't mind at all if he is as good as you say. Even otherwise that is not too far for me. Thank you so much for your help.
