Shadow Hours?

So exactly how many hours of shadowing do you need to get looked at by a dental school? My health professions office has been way less than helpful on anything regaurding dental school, so I was wondering if you all had any idea. And, if I need more hours, and get them, do I tell the schools I've applied to that my hours have increased? Thanks alot.
