My dentist owns a very small practice, 1 chair. When him and I are in the room during checkups there's barely any room, but we both get along super well and he's a great dentist and person as well. If I ask to shadow him, I think he might hesitate to say no, but the room is so super small idk if I could actually fit in. What should I do?

find another dentist... If you literately can't fit in the room, then you can't shadow. It's not our opinion or the dentist's opinion but just the way the universe works. If you think you can fit reasonably, ask him and hope he shares the same perception of the room.

Otherwise, you're just going to have to find another dentist to shadow with that has a more logistically-appealing office.

You will have to shadow more than one dentist anyways. So go ahead and get a head start.
