Shadowing an Ortho Surg?

Hello All,

I am a pre-med looking for info on shadowing an orthopedic surgeon. I am looking for feedback from anyone that had the opportunity to do so and how they went about setting it up (cold calling from the phone book, friend of a friend...etc).

If you could, please elaborate as to what the experience entailed and how you felt about it.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I started shadowing two orthopaedic surgeons after first volunteering at a local VA hospital. I just went there and expressed my interest in surgery and possibly shadowing, and I was then in touch with the orthopods, and they were more than willing to let me shadow in the OR room and clinics. It was really easy once I made this first step. If you have any other questions, PM me. Good luck
