do shadowing hours need to be completed before sending in applications to school? or can I finish my tutoring hours my senior year and some that summer? (VCU needs 100)

The point of shadowing is for you to see what dentistry is like and that you really like it. It would only make sense for you to have shadowing done before you apply.

I realize that but shadowing 50 hours or 100 hours I dont think your going to change your mind about being a dentist i'm sure most people shadowing less than 15 hours and can see this is something they'd like to do

No doubt, but VCU and a few other schools seem to think otherwise and guess who's opinion counts?
