Hello all!

I have a question regarding shadowing hours for dental schools. Here is my situation I have not shadowed a dentist at all, but I want to apply this summer... I plan on shadowing my dentist every single week from now until about last week before I apply to dental school. I have calculated the hours I can put in and it is about 100 hours. My question is I know it is so obvious that I have waited until the last minute to shadows a dentist, but how much is it going to hurt my chances of getting in? Any pre-dents/dental students in the recent years with the similar experience? Should I just wait until the next cycle?

Thank you so much! And please be nice 🙂

As long as your other credentials check out I don't think it's a big deal as to when you've shadowed but just that you get a decent amount of hours to make sure this is "what you see as your career."
