Loma Linda told me minimum was 20 hours and UOP said about 90+

osu said at least 20 hours and they have a special form to fill out that you can get on their website

The more the better. I'd go with at least 100 to be safe. And besides, it will show that you are really interested....

i did 90 but no one asked me anything at interviews so i say 100+ will make u stand out if anyone cares.

100 HOURS?!?!?! are you kidding me??!?! who has enough time to do that??? i did about 40 hours, nobody told me they wanted more than that. holy crap does anybody honestly complete 100 hours of observing? after about 40 hours I was done. i don't think there's many more new things to see after that......

i hope/plan to do 100+ before May. Ive done only 10 so far... but it shouldnt be too hard with winter break.. and spring break.. the dentist im shadowing.. whenever i dont have class. she makes me do 8-5pm/.. thats already 9hrs right there.

After completing 40+ hours of shadowing in general dentistry, try visiting a periodontist, an endodontist, an orthodontist, a pedodontist, an oral surgeon, etc. ... When you've shadowed in all the dental specialties, you will have neared the 100 hr mark. 👍

just find a dentist that works on Saturdays... that is the only time I can shadow someone, and I do it for five/six hrs every week.
