Shadowing/Observing for PRE-MEDS?

I am currently considering going to med school and have looked at all of the specialties available. Frankly, psychiatry seems to be the most suitable for me. But in order to be sure, how can I shadow a psychiatrist so I know exactly what I would be getting myself into? There's only so much I can read in books, etc. Any advice on how to get better exposure and understanding of what it's like to be a psychiatrist?

hiya albert,

I'm completely in your boat!! I posted a question like this a while back, and most of the respones were dismal. B/c of the privacy laws and such, it's really hard for us students to get exposure into this field. I guess we'll just have to wait until we get to med school.
