for all of my shadowing experiences i've either worn a button up shirt and slacks, or scrubs...when i wore scrubs the dentist seemed much more willing to let me assist with certain aspects of the procedure, so i'd recommend scrubs if you have them. if not, they will most likely offer you a robe or some cover up over your clothing.

2:30pm is my scheduled time for shadowing my gen. dent. on a crown. He only wants me to come in on the big procedures, even though I am more inclined to see how the office operates, but maybe there will be more time for that later. I plan on wearing slacks, shirt, & tie, as with bringing a set of these cool black scrubs i got from my buddy that's an RN.
That sounds like a good bet to me. Scrubs would be the best, and other than that it will vary a bit by the style of office. Business casual, I would say, is a good bet all aroundshirt and tie might be a little overboard...
my dentist told me not to where jeans, and have closed toe shoes. that's about it.
i wore slacks and a tucked in polo.
