How many hours of volunteer work and dental shadowing do dental schools look for in a good application?

What if you volunteer at a hospitals dental clinic? Would you put that under volunteering or shadowing? As I get to shadow as well as help out.

Any volunteering is better than none. Volunteering shows the adcoms that you care about society. If anything, try to get at least 50?
