I don't need any shadowing experience if I've worked as a dental assistant for a periodontist and an orthodontist right?

Some schools say they require or recommend a certain number of hours of shadowing, but I assume that if I've worked with dentists, then I shouldn't need to actually shadow them right?

I was in your same shoes and I would say the answer is no. You should have all the experience necessary.
