How often do you shadow an osteopathic physician? I will start doing some shadowing this Friday...and the physician pretty much told me to decide how often I want to come in. I was thinking about visiting the office once a week for ~ 2 months. Is that too much, too little?? What were your shadowing experiences like?

i shadowed a DO surgeon 2 days a week over christmas break, I will shadow twice over spring break, and thats basically it, maybe other breaks, but not much more.

That's pretty good. In week 6 start talking about the letter and give the DO a 2 week deadline from your last shadowing session. Discuss what you need to do to get a solid recommendation. Good luck!

The more you shadow, the better because he knows you more and will write a great LOR.

I shadowed a DO for 2 days.....about 3 hours or so each day and he wrote me a fantastic letter.....so it depends.
