so i've shadowed an oral surgeon for 40+ hours over the past several months, and ONLY an oral surgeon. i did this because i've spent 35+ hours assisting at my local dental school (and i still do this every time there is a clinic), so i figured shadowing an oral surgeon would at least bring some diversity to the table.

I believe some schools require you shadow a general dentist.
