Dear all,

For those who have accepted the schools' offers, Congrats!!!

I'm just wondering if I shall call the schools since I have been waiting for months. Most of my schools put Received/Under Review. I'm about to lose hope while waiting!!! 🙁

Need advice...

What schools have you applied to, and have other people gotten notifications from them?

I would think with your stats and the amount of schools that you applied too, you would have gotten some interviews. I'm going off your predents page here and I'm not sure how up to date it is. How are your ECs? Did you do the secondaries? I have heard of people not knowing about them...

I'd wait till after January 15th. This is the deadline for many deposits. This will give the schools a better idea of how many more interviews they need to hand out.

And don't get discouraged. There are still plenty of seats open.

Good Luck 👍

just saw on your predents that you withdrew from tufts pre-interview. What does this mean?

What have you done to enhance your application from the 2009 cycle to this 2010 cycle? The reason I ask is all of your stats are the same and dental schools like to see an interest in dentistry between cycles. Have you been working in the dental field or adding EC's in the meantime? If they don't see anything new, they might think you're not serious/committed/still interested in dentistry, and that may be why you're not getting any interviews....

the first round - 2009, 7 schools was turned in late... so considered late application.

the second round - 2010, 14 schools - one withdrew from tufts because i took my majority pre-req from cc. 3 rejections llu, midwestern, and nova (it was the date when i called the sch, coincident?!?!?!?!)

i've finished some secondaries since a few of them dont require secondaries and just pay the secondary processing fees.

i've shadowed in some local clinics and i spent most of my time at my cousin's clinic, a cosmetic dentist, and ucla dental sch. then, i didnt involve so far since i need to devote my time on my research project. the other ec will be like volunteer as a comp tech at some local churches, video-taping the sermon every week church service. these two activities are the most time i spend for at least 3 years.

i think the great improvement is getting higher score in dat... i dont know what else i need to do in order to show my enthusiasm in dental career. if i have more than 24 hours... i still can do more ec's.. haha...
