lol, well for me, i am hella worried right now.

i just bugged the heck out of my chem professor over a letter of recommendation. She has been unresponsive for the past 2 weeks and being a stressed person, you are playing with people's minds and hearts when you leave us hanging for a couple of days, LMAO! anyways she finally replied back to me, but in the email all she put were the past two emails i had sent her trying to figure out whether or not this woman was alive. so i was like 😳 So a couple of moments ago, the status of her letter went from "new" to "in progress" to "complete" within a matter of minutes. now im worried. i dunno if this lady had already been working on the letter and just now put it into the application system or if she just b.s.ed it right this moment to get me out of her hair. i want to die right now... 🙁

i just want to get into any school, God willing.

wow...yeah, what school? hopefully they do drop

yeah, i had the pharmacist i volunteer for write one, but after a whole month of putting it off. i hate having to rely on others.

I'm stressing now because I sent in almost all of my apps and now I'm sitting around waiting.. I'm wondering if I did the right thing by submitting as soon as possible vs. waiting for my 2 A grades over summer to bump my gpa up to a 3.1 (instead of a 3.07). Haha....... Not much of a difference but 3.1 does sound better than 3.07.

I want to find out NOW! I just want one school to accept me.. Just one! I'm going to be a nervous wreck in a few months time. I know I have to continue to get good grades this fall and next spring in case I don't make it in, but I can't seem to concentrate with this whole application process. 🙁

It feels so weird that people are done or are almost done applying already. Texas schools don't even have their applications available yet!

the personal statement is what is killing me!!

1. personal statement killing me too. i just busted out a rough draft at 2 am this morning😴

2. Darn transcript from summer classes at another institution. Haven't yet recieved the grade, and i'm supposed to submit for early decision. dont know how that will work. 😕

i figure.. i can't stress over something i can't control so i'll just sit back and wait for them...😎

when you apply, make sure you put down all the classes that you've planned out to complete for their pre-req requirement otherwise they won't even give you an interview.

My application would be ready once I can write an introductory sentence to my personal statement. This is seriously killing me, I have no clue where to begin. It's even more pressing now because coz I'm applying ED with a deadline in 2 weeks. This whole application process drives me NUTS!!!!

Is this true? I am applying to three schools through pharmcas and each have different pre-reqs I need to fulfill. So by listing them all, it will show each school that I am taking classes that they do not require. Not to mention, I plan on taking the last of my pre-reqs in the summer, catered only to a program that excepts me (if any at all do).

I hate how pharmcas is supposed to make it so you only put your classes, extra ciriculars, etc 1 time for all schools, then all these school supplementals ask you the same thing. Grrr..

Also bummed out about prereqs, there's a couple RANDOM classes for some schools I'm applying for that are required and I really don't want to take them (one of them being an o-chem lab even though I already took a full year /barf). I'm going to put these odd-ball prereqs in planned coursework and see what happens later.

Hey if we have 3 LORs but a school only requires 2, will they look at all 3 or just choose 2 at random????

ohhh great, I love threads like these, Im really good at complaining.👍

My biggest conflict with the application process is figuring out which schools I meet the requirements for. I've taken 4 semesters, each 16-19 credits, and a summer worth of classes and I only meet the requirements for 6 schools (Lecom Erie, WVU, Albany, MCPH, Wingate, and UCSF). Well actually only 5...I just recently read that MCPH only accepts applicants into the 0-6 program through PharmCas, you have to apply directly to the school otherwise (Im keeping things straight forward and only applying to schools that use PharmCas). But I'm having a hard time making sure my classes meet the requirements. The descriptions are too general. Their needs to be clear limits on what classes satisfy general biology or english. Excuse the length of my post:scared:

The best advice for figuring out requirements and such is to call the school. Everyone I've talked to are really nice about answering all your questions. It's better to sound silly, than to do a lot of work and find out later that your application cannot be accepted for something you could have prevented. I remember calling WVU 4 times during my application process...I had a lot of questions about the classes, and my AP/IB credits, etc.

If you have any questions about Wingate, I can try to answer them since I applied and was accepted there.

When I was applying, I made a word document for each school I applied to.
And then I went through the school's ENTIRE website, cutting and pasting whatever important information I needed. I also made a page of questions that I needed to ask as they came up in my head, with answers as I got them. And I made a page w/ all their requirements. The page w/ requirements, I would print out and check w/ my transcript...highlighting ones I haven't completed, etc. That way, it was kind of organized and you don't feel like you might have missed something along the way.

Don't worry, the process will be over before you know it! And then there's just the wait! 😛

yes it's true. If schools don't see that you plan to complete their pre-reqs, they will not grant you an interview. I asked western this and the say it's true

Ok I emailed pharmcas last Monday and again yesterday, and still no reply, (I try not to be a nag, but this is getting annoying) so I guess I'm just looking for a general answer....

I e-submitted last Saturday (8/18). I already had all my transcripts, recommendations, PCAT score and courses recieved and verified by PharmCas, and my GPA has already been calculated.

How long does it take before they foward it to the designated schools? I'm just curious as I already started mailing the supplementals to them already.

Thanks for any info.

oh crap...i didn't do that...can i call them and ask them to change it or something?

edit: what if they see that you mentioned these planned courses on your supplemental?

I'm in Texas and not a single school here has opened their applications to download much less turn in. I'm just waiting here til Sept. 1rst to begin. and some schools won't have it available til the 15th, this angers me cuz it's right in the middle of classes.

I wrote my personal essay, then i recieved supplemental application from chicago and florida and it turns out they ask the same questions that i answered in my personal essay so i am sitting here trying to rehash my essay and not make it sound like im a broken record with the same thing. i mean who asks these questions
Why are you interested in a career as a pharmacist?
Explain how you have prepared yourself for the rigors of a health professional education.

wasnt the PS suppose to brush on that stuff

from pharmCas
Your Personal Essay should address why you selected pharmacy as a career and how the Doctor of Pharmacy degree relates to your immediate and long-term professional goals. Describe how your personal, educational, and professional background will help you achieve your goals. The personal essay is an important part of your application for admission and provides you with an opportunity for you to clearly and effectively express your ideas.

I'm in the same situation: my PharmCAS planned courses section is incorrect because I had to switch my school schedule to accommodate an extra class. I just put the revised plan on all my supplemental applications. I figure the schools will see that I had to change my plan a bit but will still be completing everything on time. There's no real way to change it on PharmCAS until the academic update window opens in December, so I'll change it then to match what I put on all my supplementals. I don't think there's much more we can do, right?
