Hey guys, so my college just came out with a new website thing kind of like craigslist where ppl list the courses they will be taking in the upcoming semester and then those ppl pair up and split the cost of the book for that class.

I was j/w what you guys thought of this? Idk if it's woeth the hassle to share a book so I probably wont do it for my real difficult classes but I was thinking about doing it for my easy gen ed type classes. Is it a good idea to use it? Would you do it?

I would probably do it just as you propose, for gen ed types of stuff. I like to keep books from classes in my major, so I don't think it would work well for that.

It's always frustrating to have to buy a book for a class like PE that you'll never look at again that they won't buy back. It'd be nice to at least split the cost on those. If you're like me, you only look at the gen ed books half the time anyways...

yea exactly i think im just going to try it out this semester for my psychology class that is notorious for being easy... if it doesnt work out i can just always buy the book by myself later

the only thing is that this is a new program so im not sure how many students are going to be using it right away... i am personally going to be using it but im not so sure about how other students are going to feel about this site

I wouldn't do it unless you know the person/the person lives next to you/the book is not used daily for your class. Just my 2 cents 🙂

Do it for easy A classes aka non-major and for nothing else. Roommates work well for this if you can communicate.

I'd rather do something like Amazon e-book rental where you can rent the book month to month. Get it the first month to see if you need it and then maybe grab it for finals month.
