I just received the news that one of my research projects was accepted for a poster presentation at large, global conference in late November...is this something I should include in secondaries that have an "anything else" question?

OR save it for an update letter once I have presented it? I feel like December (essentially) is a little late to let schools know but maybe I am wrong?

I would include it in your secondaries, but I'm also not sure I would consider a poster presentation "update letter worthy" on its own, unless it's one of the particularly selective conferences.

Keep it for your scrapbook or CV when you apply to faculty positions. Look back on it fondly 30 years from now. :)

What's a scrapbook? Sigh.

So it's not even worthy of mentioning...at all? What's acceptable for an update letter then?

Maybe an accepted publication, award, or grant. Personally, I think a poster can be lumped in with all the other "this is what I did this year" updates that come out during LOI season. n=1 but the LOI I sent probably got me off the WL.

When is LOI season?
