For DO students, are shelf exams written by NBME? Who make the questions?
Are there any OMM questions on shelf exam? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!

The schools I know of have their own departmental tests for clinical rotations and not standardized shelf exams.

Depends on the school. Schools and choose to use the NBME shelf exams, write their "own" shelf exam, or the NBOME shelf exam.

The only shelf that will have OMM questions will probably me the NBOME OPP Shelf or a comprehensive NBOME exam (don't think a shelf can be comprehensive).

How does NYCOM do it?

LMU-DCOM uses the NBOME shelf exams for Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and OBGYN. Peds and Psych are written by the department heads.

NYCOM shelfs are written by NBOME. Theres usually a couple omm questions but not really worth studying for. If u have the questions from prior shelves their pretty helpful.

UNTHSC/TCOM uses NBME shelf exams with the exception of OMM. I think OMM comes from the NBOME.

No big deal, use CaseFiles and a good QBank and pay attention during the rotation and you'll pass. I say no big deal but I get 'tense' leading up to an exam and am always concerned about passing. I typically do well but there's a lot on the line. My classmates probably roll their eyes every time they see me around exam time.....

Depends on school. Mine uses NBME except for the OMM shelf. UWorld and Case Files were good to prep for those NBME exams

The Family Med NBOME shelf exam has OMM to reflect what you'll see on the Step 2 of the COMLEX.

My school only uses NBME forms too. No OMM shelf that I know of yet...Then again, most of our hospitals have allopathic attendings and OMM kinda hasn't come up so far.

so my school told us by email that when we take the nbome omm shelf, we wont get national percentile numbers to gauge how we're doing. does anyone have any info on this? also, will the shelf score be in nbome classic three digit format like the comlex or like the nbme shelf exams?

thanks.
