hey - i took the medicine shelf on dec 16th. any idea of how long it takes schools to get the scores back? thanks.

I don't know if this is the norm, but my school FedEx's them back to the NBME and they get the results online - probably about a week.

You are wasting your time asking this question on SDN.

No one on SDN knows the answer to this question because each school has a different policy. Some schools pay extra for quick turnaround, and others just wait. The only way to get the answer is to call or email the person from your school.

I don't know if it's as much a matter of how quickly the school gets them, as how quickly the school gets them to you. I just took a shelf at another school, and mine was sent off to be scored and returned with theirs. The other school's students got their scores back a week ago, and I'm still waiting for my school to tell me mine.

Wow, that's some pretty fast turnaround times. My medicine shelf score came back in about 3 weeks. I think it was about 2 for my peds exam. We were told by the 4th years that it should take about 4-6 wks on average.
