OK I thought this question would be beat over and hammered in by now on the SDN, but after searching I could not find the information.😡

So here is the deal short and sweet. I have managed to retain very little Pharm in medschool and I have to take the shelf real soon (no time to read a 2000p book or do a 3 month course). I need the quick condensed option like flashcards or a review book. Has anyone used these resources and done well in a short amount of time (3 weeks) and if so please let me know what you did. I would really appreciate it!

Thank you! I am looking at it now the APP is 30$ and I am considering it. Would you mind telling me all of the resources you used or did you just use this APP it seems pretty comprehensive with 500 questions.

we did not do a pharm shelf but for the basic science shelves (anatomy, histo, physio, path), I read the pertinent sections of First Aid and I always did very well. for the peds shelf, i used the pre-test app and i found it to be comprehensive and more convenient than flipping back on forth with the paperback, also did way above average compared to our class (92 raw, 96th~ percentile nationally or something like that, point is, it worked). if you're desperate for time, read the first aid + buy the app or do the paperback.

Wow that is impressive 96th percentile I would be so happy to be anywhere near that. So I am thinking I will go ahead and buy the app now, I found some flash cards called Lange High Yield, and Ill look into this First Aid. Thanks for the advice and good luck hope everything goes well for you!

Rapid Review Pharm
BRS Pharm
Kaplan Pharm part of the live lecture course (DOnt steal it!)

I had to take the pharm self and felt well unprepared for it. I turned to First Aid. In the beginning sections they have the review of basic pharm principles. I also reviewed the micro related pharm as well as the pharm at the ends of each organ system. They also have a section in there somewhere about overdose/treatments and a part where they list side effects and have all the drugs that cause it like "disulfiram reaction: metronidazole, etc".

Pretest is good, especially for questions on basic principles in the beginning.

Kaplan videos were nice as well
