I have a pair of Borns I was forced to buy and I must say they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

My sister in law, and ER nurse, swears by these shoes:

They're called Z-Coil, and come in many different styles for both women and men. You can also get a piece to cover the "interesting" heel.

Borns, Clarks, Naturalizers. I'm not convinced on Danskos, I don't care much for my pair. I wonder how LL Bean's knock-offs compare? My preference would be a nice pair of New Balances, but apparently that doesn't fit the dress code. Pfft.

i am working as a tech right now, and a 6 hour shift kills me.

I was told I had heel spurs 13 years ago. I wear heel cups, and today I made an appointment with a podiatrist. Last week after a 6 hour shift, i fell down the stairs my feet hurt so bad.

I am sure its either plantar fascitis or heel spurs or both. ick.

I agree that they're not the most fashionable shoes out there (and I LOVE to shop and LOVE shoes), but if you're working behind the counter in retail, does it really matter that much? Also, you can buy something to cover the ugly heel. I think that's the worst thing about the shoes. There are more styles than what was posted above. You can call even them your boingy-boings! That's fun to say and good for a laugh!

I too have been wearing a pair of Z-coil for the past 3 years everydays that I'm working. The problem of them (besides being looking weird) is they're so expensive (I got mine for $170) and the heels got wore down to the spring after like a year of use (I don't even wear them outside of work). A pair of replacement heels (good lord they make heel replacements instead of asking you to buy a new pair of Z-coil shoes!) would run you about $50. You'll have to get used to wear them as initially you'll feel weird and unstable. They also trap wires if you have any of the floor. And I've gotten countless people asking me about these weird looking shoes....Many would even think they're special shoes for handicaps🙄. Anyway, the bottomline is, with all these "problems" with my shoes, I wouldn't want to work a day in the pharmacy without having them on! They won't completely take away your feet pain but would certainly help minimize it. Just my 2 cents.

Comfort and style you seek? You can't go wrong with a pair of vintage Reebok Pumps. There are usually some for sale on eBAY fresh out of the original 1989 box. Am I that old? 😀

I got some shoes by Born just today. Time will tell if they stay this comfortable. I didn't want to put the shoes I had worn into the store back on. 🙂

Ah, I am so glad I have an office job. 🙂 I get to wear nice shoes (and I can kick them off in the privacy of my office if their comfort is somewhat lacking when compared to their looks!). However, I can definitely recommend Coach shoes (Amy style) - superior comfort. If you need to wear heels AND stand in them for prolonged periods of time - they are the best.

I love my Clarks and they're actually relatively attractive shoes.

Those things with the springs on the bottom may be comfortable, but I don't think I could look at my feet without bursting into laughter. They are the most ridiculous looking piece of footwear I've ever seen.

I recommend nice, thick socks too. I wear these socks from Peds and have noticed a difference in how much my feet hurt when I wear these vs. the normal thin black socks I have.

I do 13 hour days and used to get a ton of leg/foot pain. I bought shoes by Kenneth Cole that sport "silver technology" (basically a gel/fluid filled insert) then I bought the Dr. Schols inserts and rock them inside on top of that gel sole. Cant say Ive had a problem since.

I've loved every pair of Birkenstocks and Clarks that I've owned. Ecco, also, are quite nice. As for Dansko clogs, I wouldn't recommend them for anyone with sensitive feet; I bought a pair a couple years ago, and I literally wanted to cry after wearing them for one day. I've never experienced a more painful shoe. Also, I found them to be rather unstable, and nearly tripped several times throughout the day. Needless to say, they were returned. My opinion of Crocs is conflicted. On the one hand, they are cheap, comfortable, and easy to clean. On the other hand, they are ugly, not particularly durable, and no more comfortable than the numerous higher quality options.

I have worn through the soles on a pair of Ecco shoes in just 3 months. They are made of softer material than most and apparently lose out when battling the rubber padding behind the pharmacy counter.
