shooting an arrow

I forget where this question came from, but the passage reads something like: An arrow was shot xx degrees from the horizontal. If there is now more wind resistance to slow down the arrow, how would this affect the time it take for the arrow to fall to the ground. The answer is it's supposed to take less time because it moves slower. Can someone explain this?

wind resistance is an opposing force like friction. this decreases the net force, which in turn decreases acceleration, and so on and so forth
