Hey Guys,
I haven't ever posted on here before, but I've cruised around quite a bit and it's been pretty helpful so far, so I'm a little curious at what your thoughts are, on my chances of getting in the first round?

I'm applying to DO schools only, currently have a 3.28 science gpa and about a 3.6 overall. I worked in a DO clinic for about 2 years, first shadowing then graduating to a paid position as a scribe/receptionist/back office aide. I then worked for about 1.5 yr as an event coordinator, implementing a non-profit public health program into the community (lived in a rural area during college), employed through the local medical society. Somewhere along the line I also shadowed an MD for about 4 months. To sum it up, I also worked for another DO as a scribe/administrative assistant until I moved out of the area...so in total, about 4 years work experience, and primarily under DO's. (Where I fell in love, haha). I have 2 C's on my record (Chem I and O-Chem 2), which I am debating replacing...but I work full time and a half and would rather not if I dont have to (but def. will if I do). I am dead set on getting in and will apply year after year if I have to...but would be nice the first time. 🙂

I took the '15 MCAT just recently. God help me, my score was alright.

What are the general ranges for gpa's for DO acceptance? I've seen a lot of different numbers, so am a bit confused as to where I stand...

Thank you! Hope this day finds you well

Replacing those grades would be nice, or at least one of them. It's perfectly reasonable to take orgo 2 or chem 1 with a full time job (I did). You have a chance now but it would strengthen your chances, so I'd say buckle down and just do it.

3.4 is the avg., with CCOM topping the list at ~3.6.

My school's floor is about 3.2.

You're fine where you are.

Actually, digging through some schools I found that Des Moines and Rowan top the list at 3.63. But that was for the class of 2018 and 2017 respectively, I'm sure they'll hit at least 3.65 this year.
