shortcuts on physics?

How many people use shortcut in physics. I mean on EK, they have all these tactics, but I feel like I still have to write stuff down like v0, x0 etc. What are your suggestions?

In my opinion, whatever method produces an answer you are confident in without wasting ALOT of time is sufficient. I also write down formulas and work out each step just because that's how my homework, quizzes, and tests were in my undergrad physics class. Stick with any method you are confident in.
