Should I apply this cycle or not?

Hey guys I have a 3.5 gpa and a 26 MCAT score. I applied last cycle with it to a few D.O schools and got waitlisted. I am currently retaking the MCAT on September 18th (earliest time due to other things in life) and I "know" I will get a higher score because I am already scoring 33+ on the practice tests I am taking. My question is should I even bother applying to MD schools or will they just pre-screen me out? I wont get my new MCAT score till mid October and that is the deadline for most schools. What do you guys think? Thanks!

I would wait until the next app cycle. With your improved MCAT score and "decent" GPA you should be in buisiness for next app cycle.

While you wait build your application, are there any grey areas that could use improvement? Work on your EC's and come back next app cycle with a strong application. It is not worth it to push the envelope if your chances are slim this time around. Do not give up!

I would definitely hold off until next year. You always want to have the most competitive application possible and submitting early is key.
