So my GPA is a 2.9 and I’m taking physics and stats this fall and spring. Is it too late to take these classes?? I take the gre in 3 weeks and I’m hoping for a great score in it. Should I wait to apply next cycle or do I have chance to get accepted this cycle?

So is there a chance- yes, there's always a chance, and always people who will tell you they got in with worse/same stats. But it isn't a great chance. The places most likely to accept a low GPA are also the more expensive schools. You can get a better sense of your chances by asking how do your stats compare to the stats of schools you want to apply for. Do you have practice tests that back up your hope for a great GRE score, or is that really just a hope? I guess it comes down to if you want to shell out the money and time now for application fees (and likely for the cost of wherever you'd get in) when you could be a much stronger candidate in a year.

Thank you my practice test have been alright. I’ve passed each one so I feel confident. I’m cool shelling money out I’ve saved a lot of money for this thing so I guess I will try.

I have not heard of anyone being accepted with GPAs below 3.0. SO I assume your chance of getting lucky maybe 1%. If you do choose to try and apply, apply to schools whose average acceptance GPA is in low 3-s (ask the schools for GPA stats for students accepted at previous cycles). Otherwise it will be the waste of your time and money.
