So is there a chance- yes, there's always a chance, and always people who will tell you they got in with worse/same stats. But it isn't a great chance. The places most likely to accept a low GPA are also the more expensive schools. You can get a better sense of your chances by asking how do your stats compare to the stats of schools you want to apply for. Do you have practice tests that back up your hope for a great GRE score, or is that really just a hope? I guess it comes down to if you want to shell out the money and time now for application fees (and likely for the cost of wherever you'd get in) when you could be a much stronger candidate in a year.
