Should I be regularly checking schools' portals?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Only one I’ve been checking is case western bc I’ve heard that sometimes they do not send an email

I know that GW updated their portals if you were put on hold without emailing you, but so far I've heard other schools like Drexel will send an email if they change your status to on hold. And I think Boston has started sending rejections via email as well.

Not a missed II, but George Washington will change your status from "Under Review" to "Hold" without email notification. Though I've heard this is a true hold and you get reviewed again later for an II or R.

I realize that asking premeds not to be neurotic is a fool’s errand, but I would suggest that you check their portals—just in case—periodically, not neurotically.

You should check every applicant portal at least every other day until your application is noted as complete, under review, or similar
after that you should check at least a few times a week. Not every school will email interview invites. Some show up only on portal
Thank you! Looks like I found a new hobby.

Has anyone compiled a list of schools that only update portal?

I thought we already have a data king @TheDataKing 🙂
The number of schools that only give interview invites on the portal is far and few between. When it does happen, SDN school specific threads blow up. Albany, Loyola, and Ohio State come to mind from last year. Imo you don’t need to check the portals that frequently unless you love pain and wasting your time
