Hi everyone,
I just wanted some opinion on this matter. I got accepted to SUNY already and I know it's a very decent school. However, I have an interview with SCCO scheduled. Should I bother going to the interview still? If I had the choice btw the two schools, I would choose SUNY right now but I really don't know that much about SCCO. Which one is better? What is SCCO like in terms of clinic, board exam passing rate and inner rankings?

It seems to me that you must visit SCCO to be able to make the best decision possible for you. If you are questioning it now, it seems best to investigate it on your own. Without the tour/interview at SCCO, how can you personally make that decision. Others on here might be able to tell you some info, but you ultimately must make the final decision... the right decision for you (and who can make that but yourself?)

i would chose SUNY cuz im going there in august too 😀

I am in the same situation. I was recently accepted at ICO, but I still have intives to interviews at SUNY and Nova. I really liked ICO and didnt see any reason why I would not be happy there. But I am torn because maybe I would also like the other schools as well. I need to make my decisions soon though.

If I were you, I would go check out SCCO. Southern California is the best. As for me, Living in So Cal is much better than living in NY. you need to go see what the weather is like over there. it doesn't hurt to check it out.

Hi I interviewed at SUNY last week, and got accepted...so i'm gonna be cancelling my interviews at NECO and PCO, if i'm not gonna go there what's the point in spending the time/money to go on the interview. SCCO might be great or even better than SUNY I have no idea....but I would recommend SUNY only because i'm going be going there also 🙂...

haha ok....just because you are going there doesnt' suddenly make SUNY the best place on earth. (but it is a good school)

i recommend checking out SCCO first even if you have your doubts, it's not about time and money, this is your optometric career we're talking about. you will have to spend the next 4 yrs at whatever school you choose and at the end of those 4 yrs the training endowed to you by that school will the set of skills you will build upon for the rest of your career so i think you should at least make a decision based on the same grounds.
