should i bring a resume to my interview?

No thats your aadsas app basically... Don't take anything!

I took a padfolio to take some notes and hold all the hand outs.

You should already know what's on your resume assuming none of it is fabricated. Might help to bring a bifold/portfolio with a notepad of questions or whatnot. If it makes you feel better, take your resume, but it is definitely not required.

If you want to take it, just take it. It's only a piece of paper.

Its always nice to have a point of reference during the interview so that you are able to make sure attention was brought to each aspect of your application that you want taken into consideration. Interviews can be high stress situations and a visual aide may reduce the chances of forgetting something you wanted to speak about.

i didn't bring one to any of my interviews, didn't see the need. i did take a padfolio to one of my interviews. didn't really need that either.

Really? Wow, I would totally disagree with this. It seems like this would greatly detract from their perception of your ability to think on your toes and be a critical thinker in answering the questions. And doesn't it kind of put the idea in your head (if you were the interviewer) that you aren't the greatest socially? But you're in dental school so apparently multiple trains of thought on this do work. I'm just surprised.

It's not necessary to bring a resume but it may be handy to make last minute preparations.

everything should be on your application or if its that great and didn't make it (it should have), you should bring it into conversation...

i mean seriously, they have your application on hand. they didn't blindly give you an interview.

Even the greatest speakers in the world use cue cards. I am not saying to stare at your resume or a copy of your application. If you choose to bring a portfolio folder, tossing a copy of your resume into the folder may be useful.

I didn't bring one, nor did I need one. But, I heard of interviews that ask for all the dates of your extracurriculars, work, and research 😕...I see no point in that since they have your file right in front of them, but I've heard it happen before.

Personally, I brought a padfolio with me because it looks professional and it gave me something to take notes on (outside the actual interview). During the interview, I had to actually put it aside on the desk behind me because it would've been a distraction holding it the entire time.
