Should I bring anything to my OSU interview?

Their information states they will be handing out a pen and a padfolio, and to bring shoes for walking. I'm not planning on anything else, but am I forgetting anything?

All I was going to bring is the shoes. How are you bringing them in? Are you gonna leave them in your car and run out to get them before the tour, or are you going to bring them in with you? I just feel that might be awkward!

i wont be there for a few weeks but I am planning on bringing along a list of questions for my interviews, a copy of my application and a small bag. I think i am going to tough it out and skip the change of shoes. Suit + Sneakers= Bad Look. In the confirmation email there is a pic of students on a bus so i think the tour of the campus will be on the bus and then the dental building will be walking which shouldnt be too bad. hopefully i wont regret the shoes.... What is a padfolio?? good luck guys! let me know how it goes. any advice would be much appreciated!!

I don't know what a padfolio is. It was in the email.

A padfolio is basically a leather folder that you can fit a pen and paper into. They look pretty professional. I didn't know OSU is giving us one--I must have missed that. That's a nice gift. Other schools just give you a folder 😀

Hmm... yeah, maybe I will just tough it out with my shoes too. They are broken in after all so it can't be that bad. I was just thinking I hope we aren't walking for 2 hours on the tour.

Just got back. The walking part of the tour really wasn't that long, and yes the padfolio was much nicer than I expected it to be.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring your comfortable walking shoes. The tour is from 1:00-3:00 with lots of walking. We want you to be comfortable. The tour is after your interview and no one will care what shoes you are wearing.

We have OSU carry bags for your shoes available at the welcome table.

Anyone who brings their walking shoes gets bonus points added to their interview score...

When you receive your interview confirmation email, there is a link to a webpage that details all that goes on during your visit.

Please make certain to review the information on that webpage carefully. You will find lots of details, including your schedule, a list of your interviewers as well as interviewer bios. Guest information is provided as well. There are photos from last year's interviews and there is even a photo of the padfolio that you will receive 🙂
