I sent in my secondaries and haven't had any invitation to interviews or anything like that. Should I be calling up schools and asking what's my status? My bro told me they like it when you call because you're expressing interest but I'm not so sure (I sent in my app, that's expressing interest in my opinion). Any useful info on this?

The person you're calling is most likely a secretary who gets 100 of those phone calls a day and will probably be more annoyed than anything else due to the fact that they receive so many of those calls.

Is your brother applying too?

This "advice" sounds like it's coming from a gunner who's trying to eliminate competition

I say go with flowers and a nice card that ask what's the deal.

A call just says I'm not committed to this relationship as where a flower/card says I'm in this thing for the long haul.

A nice dinner out and a diamond tennis bracelet never hurts either.

I offer free gift wrapping and know exactly what to write on the card. Just send a box of tennis bracelets to me and I'll distribute them to all the schools for you...

For the most part I think this is a bad idea.

However, in the Vermont thread one of the medical students said he recommended this, because it might make a difference at that school. I wouldn't do it though.

Don't forget the chocolates in a heart-shaped box!

there are too many threads started by impatient people...chill out!!! its a long process

I emailed the admissions director at my top choice and got an interview 3 hours after hitting the send button- it was the only school I did that. I only called schools when I was trying to get my status and I didn't know if I was considered complete yet- so not to show interest at all since I talked to secretaries at each school.

why did you email the admissions director?
