Hey so I've tried finding recent information on Puerto Rican medical schools, but the ones I founded were a little dated. I was wondering what you guys thought of it. I have no hispanic/spanish/latin blood in me. I have taken 12 semester hours of Spanish (Spanish 101-104), so I know some spanish but wouldn't call myself fluent. I want to try these schools before thinking of Caribbean schools, so what do you guys think? I want to apply so I can get into med school Fall 2016.

I'd advise against it. You need to be very fluent in both languages (writing and speaking). While their minimum requirements are low, they are heavily mission-based schools. THe only school that is "stats-heavy" with numbers is the one school that ONLY accept residents of Puerto Rico. Combining all four schools, I'd bet out-of-state matriculants make up a small percentage of their student bodies.

You should be fluent in Spanish, not to mention medical term in Spanish.

they require college language spanish classes or the equivilant of the spanish version of the toefl

Thats one of my dream schools lol. As far as Spanish goes the book are in English. The lectures can be in either or but bc they are prepping you for the LCME its in English most of the exams though. Spanish is needed for clinicals And patients and they do require you to be fluent in both. So depends on how baf you want it honestly. Personally I love the idea of a bilingual education that still gets accreditation from the US and is a participant in matching.
